Welcome to the Wings Over Washington Kite Club WebSite!
WOW is based in Metropolitan Washington DC. Over the years we have established
ourselves as one of the premier kite clubs on the east coast, if
not in the country. We welcome kite enthusiasts, or
anyone who loves kiting to join us! For young and old,
there is nothing more peaceful than flying a kite on a warm
sunny day!

While
most of our members fly multi-line sport (or stunt) kites,
they can also be found flying every type of kite imaginable!
From the smallest Micros and Fighters, to our award winning
Rokkaku Challenge teams and giant kites.
WOW has members attending
many events: Kitebuilding retreats, the Annual
Smithsonian Kite Festival right here in Washington, DC on
the Mall, and to kite events and festivals all over the
United States and abroad.

WOW's kitebuilders have won many awards and we frequently
hold kite building workshops.
Every month on
the First Sunday we fly on the Washington Monument Grounds!
